In this new year of a mission of grace, the Lord will answer you as you call upon him.

Jeremiah lived during a time that the Israelites had turned their backs on God. Jeremiah himself was confined to a courtyard (Jer 32:2, 33:1) as the Babylonians laid siege to Jerusalem. But Jeremiah understood God’s Word never changes in any season of life. Jeremiah kept a posture of listening to God’s active voice.

Answer the Lord with repentance- Jeremiah speaks of repentance over 100 times in this letter. Any time we call to God, our hearts need to be open to hearing words of correction, rebuke, and direction from the Holy Spirit. The Lord does not condemn us, rather, he convicts us through His Word. Wait on the Lord, confess any known sins to God, and ask Him to prepare your heart to receive from Him.

Answer the Lord in faith- God would restore the destruction and decay the Israelites were experiencing. We are to give thanks to God in faith (vs 33:11), knowing God’s Word always points His people back to the promise of a better life in eternity. So then, be less concerned about your requests of the Lord, and more concerned with the faith steps God is requesting of you.

Pray bold prayers of faith! Repent of any sinful ways, and watch the Lord reveal to you great and unsearchable things you do not know. It’s been said that the ‘greatest rewards in life go to the risk takers’. Call to the Lord, and expect God to answer!
