“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (Jn 15:5)

Making Jesus the center of your “ordinary” everyday life will lead to God using you in extra ways to reach the world.

In John 15:5 Jesus says that if you will remain in Him every day (or in other words, “make Him the center of everyday life”) He will “bear much fruit” through your life.  Our theme this year, “Everyday Cornerstone,” is a reminder of this truth:

– Jesus, the chief cornerstone, should be the center of every day

– His Body, the church, should be part of your encouragement every day

– His Holy Spirit should fill you every day

So as we focus on Jesus in our everyday lives, something surprising happens.  The Holy Spirit begins to give us Jesus’ passion for the lost among our neighbors and among the nations.  After all, the Holy Spirit was given to us to accomplish the mission of Jesus in our lives (listen to the October 6th sermon, “A Jesus-Centered Relationship with the Holy Spirit” on our app or online).

This month, our focus is on the nations as we continue to reach our neighbors for Christ.  We show you how to take your everyday life and be part of the eternal glory of Jesus in the entire world.  Whether it is joining our first medical team mission trip to Ethiopia, walking the Holy Land in prayer and Bible study, or reaching out to the inner city, Cornerstone is blessed to be living out the very words and mandate of Jesus in Acts 1:8

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

May your everyday life change the world in eternal ways for the glory and honor of Jesus!
