2 Corinthians 12:8-9

In verse 8 Jesus says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” When reading this verse I thought about the mature Christian. Many times mature Christians fall and because we know better, we tend to be hard on ourselves. We believe that because we know better or maybe we repeat the same sin that it’s impossible for God’s grace to apply.  We know that sin separates us from God. However, sometimes we allow the fact that we sinned to keep us from spending time with God because we realize that we’re not worthy; we separate ourselves from Him. The enemy will use this trick to discourage you from running back to the Father. Here is a reminder that Jesus is saying that even in your sin my grace is sufficient. No matter what you have done, or how many times you have repeated it, yes, my grace is sufficient.

No matter what sin you may struggle with remember what Paul said,” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”  All of us have weaknesses and areas where we struggle, but God wants us to depend solely on him to obtain His strength.
