Staying Put Until –
Have you ever made a move before God was ready? That is to say without seeking His guidance or asking for His direction? The instruction Jesus gave to His disciples is very clear – don’t move UNTIL you have been clothed with power from on high. It’s not that the disciples couldn’t have traveled town to town & shared the gospel. I just don’t believe they would have been as effective in their mission without the Holy Spirit.
We NEED the Holy Spirit to guide us, provide direction & comfort us in times of pain. But most of all – to know the Father’s heart. Every day we face pressures from the world to accomplish more, be more. But if we are striving in our own power – then what are we really working towards? Earthly treasure for temporary pleasure? God created each of us for a divine purpose that can only be fully carried out when we allow the Holy Spirit to move freely through us.
The Holy Spirit is an integral part to God’s plan. So if God ask told you to STAY PUT UNTIL during this Advent season ~ don’t be discouraged. After all, you’re in good company…just take a look at the disciples.
