There’s a sweet joy we experience emotionally when we see a newborn baby. Children, and especially babies, demonstrate the meaning of true faith to us. For the baby, there is no one more important to baby than mommy and daddy. Baby is also quick to let others know of their displeasure.

The Holy Spirit causes the baby (John the Baptist) to leap for joy in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary shows up. The baby’s reaction indicated he experienced joy in the presence of the Lord. This is the first time we see John (even as an unborn baby) bring a prophetic sign that Christ was the coming Messiah.

Life has a way of tainting a healthy perspective of the Holy Spirit. God desires for Christians to walk in joy every day, that we would experience the presence of the Lord just as the baby John. As sin impacts us, even in Christian circles, we lose perspective on the greatness, majesty, and joy of knowing the Father.

What situation or life circumstance is robbing your joy? As believers, we are both wounded in relationship and healed in relationship. As God heals your heart, he brings joy to your soul. You are called to ‘jump for joy’ everyday in the sight of your savior.

Read John 14:15-17. Then, read Philippians 4:4-8.Be honest with God to experience the spirit of truth. Tell the Lord specifically what troubles you. Confess your sin to God, and receive His forgiveness. Then, rejoice in the Lord. This is how we experience the Holy Spirit, and we ‘jump for joy’ because we fully submit to His Will, not our will.
