Acts 4:36-37 Joseph, who the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.

This was at least one of the acts that earned Barnabas his name, He sold a property that belonged to him and gave the money to the church to care for its poorer members.  This is the foundation of what it means to be a real friend.  A genuine friend helps out even when it comes at great personal cost.

Barnabas was a great friend and a great example to us of what a friend should be. But there’s one friend in the Bible who shows friendship in a way that makes Barnabas pale in comparison, that friend is Jesus Christ and he wants to be your friend today

Jesus demonstrated His love for us by Sacrificing Himself for Us.  Pray and ask the Holy Spirit how you can be a friend today.   John 15:12-15
