After the first miraculous healing by Holy-Spirit-baptized followers of Jesus, came another opportunity to reach the multitudes. The Holy Spirit empowered their actions with the healing of the crippled man. Here, the Spirit empowered the disciple’s words.
Remember the last time Peter was questioned in this same courtyard of Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin (Read Matthew 26:69-70)? Things are drastically different now that Peter speaks as one “filled with the Holy Spirit” (v8). Jesus had promised him it would be so (Read Luke 12:11-12).
TODAY, be filled with the Holy Spirit and His powerful words of faith. Return to those same places where you have spoken in a “spirit of fear,” and instead be filled with His Spirit of “power, love and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Trust Him as He guides you, and allow God to use you as a witness of His words of truth and life.
