Chapter 16 begins with the reading of The Passover.  It was during this time that God’s people recalled how God had been their Savior. God had miraculously brought them out of Egypt. As we continue reading The Festival of Weeks and The Festival of Tabernacles, there were two things that stand out. In verse 11 it says to rejoice before the Lord your God and to remember that you were slaves in Egypt. Verse 14 again tells us to be joyful.

This is a reminder to us all that we are to be thankful. We are to be thankful not just when things are going great; this is easy to do, but to remain thankful in seasons of difficulty.  Just as God instructed the people of Israel to remember, we should also remember all the things that God has done for us. I recently heard someone say “that the situation that we face is only as big as our perception.” No matter what situation we face, rejoice and be joyful.  We serve a God that performs miracles!  Remember how God has blessed you!
