Prosecutor to Defendant

In this passage we see the Apostle Paul standing trail. As I read this passage I am reminded of when we first encounter Paul (Saul), he was this prosecutor who was vigilant on charging all those who calls on Jesus as their savior. In, fact in Acts 7 Paul was responsible for giving the evangelist Stephen the death penalty. Could you imagine what Paul was thinking about?

In this passage I see three things: 1. when you have trusted in Jesus for salvation and filled with the Spirit, you are willing to do anything for Jesus. Jesus turned Paul’s (Saul) worldly passion into a godly passion. 2. We are to stand firm in the midst of persecution. We all face some sort of opposition because of our faith; however we are to stand firm. 3. The Favor of God is always with us. In this passage we see how God’s favor was with Paul and granted him his request. As we continue to live a life filled with the Spirit of God, let us walk in God’s transformation power for our lives.
