Acts 5:3-4

3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

In the first service there was a sweet responding to the Lord during the worship. There was a time to repent and confess our sins to the Lord and to receive HIS forgiveness and goodness. It really was an outward expression of what was going to be brought forth in the morning sermon. There is a need to speak truth and walk in truth, to put yourself on the altar. To not be motivated to be seen on the stage and gain approval of man, but to be transparent with God and others. Here are some nuggets from first service.

  • Speaking tongues is important, but more than tongues- we should speak the TRUTH.
  • We can’t have the fruits of the Spirit without the conviction of the Spirit.
  • The gifts of the Spirit show up in the Market place- to be used outside the four walls of the church
  • Be honest with what your giving to the Lord
  • Be willing to surrender and put yourself on the Altar
  • No such thing as faithfulness without mercy, you can’t be faithful to people without mercy.

Pastor Shawn shared a great subject lesson from coaching soccer to little kids. You could hear the heart of the Father speaking through the story, giving us the lesson of obedience to the words of the Father. Just like the voice of the Holy Spirit, when God comes by- swing your foot!
