This is My Son
Hebrews 1:3
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
There is no one like Jesus! Check out how His grace shows up in today’s passage.
Jesus is the “radiance of God’s glory.” “Just as the radiance of the sun reaches this earth, so in Christ the glorious light of God shines into the hearts of men”. He is the “exact representation” of God’s being. Just as the image on a coin represents the device on the die, so Jesus is the very stamp of God’s nature. Jesus sustains all things “by his powerful word.” By Him all things were created and in Him all things are held together (Colossians 1:16). Jesus provided purification for our sin. This cleansing of our heart could only be accomplished by the One who was fully God and full man. When His work was completed, Jesus sat down in the place of honor alongside the “Majesty in heaven.”
There is no one like Jesus! Only one thing left to do is to give God praise for sending us grace whose name is Jesus.
