Luke 11:1
“Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray.”
The Bible tells us a lot about prayer, including the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus, our teacher, teaches us throughout scripture how we can pray. Through His example, we learn that we can come to God as Father, and that we can talk to Him about the things that are on our hearts. When we come to Him in prayer, we can have confidence that He hears us. His expectation of us is not to pray like those around us or to look like them, but to simply have a conversation with Him. It’s not a conversation that has to end after we say Amen, but a conversation that He would like to have with us throughout the day. When we go to God in prayer, just give Him your heart. That’s what He wants from us.
