Luke 22:39-40

“Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, pray that you will not fall into temptation.”

When we pray to God not to fall into temptation, we are asking God to keep us from difficult situations that would tempt us to sin. We know that sin is what separates us from God. Now, in this life, we know that we will all face times that we will be tempted. We shouldn’t just pray when those times come, but pray this prayer on a daily basis so that we’re able to discern those moments and resist. The best protection that we could ever have from temptation, is to turn to God and to depend on Him for direction.
