Paying – the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again
“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” – John 19:30
Jesus’s death completed the payment needed to atone for the sins of all mankind. Jesus’s resurrection showed us that His power was greater than death. Ultimately, you want to finish life well just as Jesus did. When Jesus said ‘It is finished’,
The curse of sin was defeated- The law was fulfilled because Jesus, the only perfect sacrifice, paid the price for your transgressons.
a new way of life was introduced- Sin’s power was not greater than God’s power to deliver you from the bondage of sin.
You have a choice to make…to believe in Jesus’s perfect sacrifice by trusting in Him or to plot your own course. The key here is Jesus’s attitude towards His followers.
Read Philippians 2:5-11. Jesus demonstrates total commitment to His people, even to the point of death. Ask yourself two questions:
1. Are you demonstrating total commitment to Christ?
2. Are you demonstrating total commitment in your life relationships?
God’s love changes your attitude to love Jesus, and His mission compels you to share Him with others.
How do you want to be remembered? If you weren’t here anymore, what would people say about you? Let your daily attitude follow the example of Christ because nothing else matters compared to finishing life well with Jesus.
