“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish…” John 10:27-28
Hear the voice of the Good Shepherd calling you! He sees you where you are and He is calling you by name today! He is always close enough for you to hear His voice no matter where life’s journey has taken you. We may hear Him in our Bible study time, our prayer time, through others or in that still small voice that whispers to us when we have lost our way.
So what is He saying? Follow Me! Being His sheep is about hearing AND following. Since sheep are never driven, but always led, He leads the way on the paths He’s uniquely selected for us.
And when He calls us “My sheep” He’s claiming us as His own! Praise God that we are sheep of His flock and that He knows who we are. This is not merely awareness or even recognition, instead it is an intimate knowledge that perceives every facet of who we are and yet loves us with an everlasting love! He knows you as His own!
But where are we following Him? To the paths of eternal life! And the joyous news is that that abundant life begins on our first step into Christianity and that blessed path has no end! All creation may fade and crumble with the passing eons and still this life in Christ will remain fresh and new; unscathed by the passing of time.
Take a few moments today to praise Him for His precious gift of life eternal!
