Ephesians 4:22-24
“Jesus was not selfish…He gave his life out of love for others. From a place of loving union with his Father, Jesus had a mature, healthy ‘true life’.”
Paul teaches the Ephesians to be rid of the sin that causes selfishness in each one of us. Jesus calls us to confess our sins to God and repent so that we may discover the new ‘self’ that we have in Christ. Your identity should never be tied into what you do, what others think of you, or how many possessions you have. What do you know about yourself that does not belong with your new self in Christ?
