Hebrews 4:12-13
Today’s reading invites you to look back at your family of origin to see how your past may impact your present life. Jesus desires to uncover the wounds, scars, sins, and wrongdoings of your past in order that he may heal you. His living, active voice is more than able to reveal the events of your past (good and bad) that shape your activities today.
What connections do you see between your current family environment and your growing up years? Write down a short list and ask God to search your heart. Thank God for the blessings you experience in your life today, and let God reveal to you anything that needs to be brought out of the darkness. It is time to let God’s spirit penetrate the iceberg of your deepest longings and desires. Jesus wants to heal you and be the center of your identity.
