As the scripture says, all were filled, not just the Apostles. The Holy
Spirit could now come into the hearts and lives of all Believers to
abide permanently. They began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit
enabled or equipped them. This act was not initiated by them, but
initiated by the Holy Spirit.
As we approach this Christmas holiday, remember the best gift of all is
Jesus! One of His many gifts to us is the gift of the Holy Spirit. By
receiving this precious gift we no longer live empty lives. We have the
Holy Spirit living inside of us to overflowing. As we come in contact
with people this Christmas holiday, who may not have received this
special gift, or who may be in a place where they need encouragement,
allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you. He will equip you with the
words that you need to encourage the brokenhearted or be an instrument
used in helping to win the lost for His glory! Pray and ask God to fill
you with the words you need for those you may come in contact with this
holiday season.
