Does It Bother You?
Paul is continuing his missionary work throughout the world. God is using Paul to plant churches in different cities. In verse 16 we get a small look into Paul’s heart and motivation. The verse says Paul “was bothered within himself as he saw that the city was full of idols”. This caused Paul to share Jesus to the people in the synagogue.
When we look at the world around us filled with idols, does it bother us? Since we live in such a “fallen” society we can become so desensitized to the sin around us. However, since we are people filled with the Holy Spirit, the idols of this world should always bother us. Sometimes we could be bothered by the sin around us and do nothing about it. Paul gives us examples that not only are we to be bothered by the sin around us, but also share Jesus with the people around us.
