Matthew 9:35-38
David Johannes’s journey into long-term missions began on a youth missions trip in the mid-1990s to Southeast Asia. He loved it so much that he decided to live his life on the mission field, reaching people who’ve never had the chance to hear about the Gospel.
David is very passionate about reaching unreached peoples for the Gospel. Approximately 2 billion in the world have no access to the gospel. This means that unless someone goes and tells them about who Jesus is, they have no way of knowing salvation through Jesus Christ. Furthermore, most people come to Christ through a one-on-one relationship, rather than a mass evangelism crusade or altar call moment of service.
Jesus teaches us that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Where has God called you to be a worker? Jesus knew the task of evangelism would be difficult, but He was passionate about seeing God’s grace work throughout the world. So He sent the Holy Spirit into the world to give power in witnessing (Acts 1:8).
Who are the persons around you who need to hear the Gospel message? Consider your relationships at school, work, neighborhood, and your own family. You may be the only example of Christ in an unbeliever’s life.
You are sent by Jesus to share God’s saving grace to others. Choose to be a worker in the harvest, and share Christ with others.
