The women watched as the lifeless body of their Messiah was buried. Just a few days earlier the crowds had been cheering and the future was brimming with hope and bright promise. But now the death of Him who had been a source of hope had without warning ushered in confusion and despair. Jesus had been snatched away and with Him went their hope for the future.

What about you? Ever see a cherished dream crash and burn? Ever pray night and day without a sign of release from a painful situation? We all have. And when every natural circumstance goes against a promise of God, we are each faced with a choice. Will we believe what our natural senses or our dire circumstances proclaim OR will we choose to trust more in the God who made the promise?

Victory was only a few hours away…but they didn’t know that. We never know when our victory is just around the bend. All the disciples could see was that death was reigning over the One who had made life worth living. They were powerless to change what had happened, but as T.D. Jakes says “Sunday’s Comin’!”

Whatever battle you’re facing today where defeat seems certain. Whatever precious dream lies crushed. Whatever has caused you to lose resolve-for you precious believer…in a few short hours; Sunday’s Comin’ too! Keep trusting-keep believing.

May the fulfillment of Jesus’s resurrection bring a fresh assurance that God has not forgotten His promises…they are as sure as the enduring faithfulness of God Himself! Christ has risen and with Him rises hope and promise!
