When it comes to a war, there can be many battles. Each individual battle has its own build. Some battles are well planned and organized and other battles can disorganized and very messy. The only thing that can be for sure about a battle is the surrender.

The surrender always come after one of the fighting sides can no longer face the challenge of the individual battles and ultimately knows that they can no longer win the war. This moment is never met with excitement and it will have lasting effects. But once the losing side has surrendered, there is no more fighting. That war is over.

Our guest speaker, Tim Mathews, took an example like the one mentioned above and compared it to our own lives. In order to allow Jesus into your life you have to surrender it over to him. You have to give him control. Even though your life might appear to be too messy or even well organized, God will always accept your surrender.

“If you have surrendered your life over to Christ, you don’t have a life anymore.” –Matthews

The beautiful part about surrendering to Christ is that once you do it, you don’t have to keep doing it. Understand? When one army surrenders to another, they do not have to keep surrendering. The war is over, the surrender is accepted. The same is with Christ.
So what do you do after you surrender?

You Submit.

Now that your life has been surrendered to Christ, you can go live! You are free to live your life for him! You will not do this alone either; as the Holy Spirit will now be by your side. When you don’t have the words, he will have the words. When you don’t know what to do, he will know what to do. This is all done through submission.

Whatever you hear from the Lord, the Holy Spirit will equip and prepare you.

Surrender and Submit. What actions do you need to take today?
