Hebrews 5:7 NIV
While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.
This is the goal of our faith and it can’t happen without prayer. Prayer is our time when we spend time with our Heavenly Father just like Jesus did and take the time to be filled with the same spirit as Jesus. The Gospels show us that Jesus often went away to pray and especially prayed before big decisions. He always took time to know the Father’s heart and will and to be filled with the power and wisdom to live it out.

Prayer: God, my desire is to become more like Jesus. Please fill me with the Holy Spirit as I take this time to be with You and remember Your Word and will in my life.
