John 15:4-5 ESV
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
What you depend on is what you turn to first when you have a need. When we go to Him to talk to Him, to seek His guidance and direction, to ask Him for help, we are showing that we need Him and that we recognize that we cannot do this life alone. Jesus was clear that if we learn to come to Him and abide in Him we will have all we need. When we don’t go to Him first, worry and fear fill us.
