“You are the light of the world. . . let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
You are a leader. Whether you ever speak from a microphone, teach a class, or have an important title, you are a leader.
When the power goes out in my house at night, the person with the flash light automatically becomes the leader. It doesn’t matter the age, education level, bank account, or personality of the person with the flash light. The person with the flash light automatically becomes the leader because he or she has the light!
The simple fact is that everyone who has the light of Jesus in their life (the “lampstand” from Revelation 2:5) is a leader. So, the question is, “How are you leading?” Are you leading wisely or foolishly? Are your actions helping people towards Christ or pushing them away? I’m not asking if you are perfect. How do people around you see what is at the center of your daily life?
Most of us think leading others to Jesus is about talent and talking. Today, I’d like you to know that the Bible says a wise leader is something different.
1. Wise leaders show people that what everyone, including them, need most is Jesus.
2. Wise leaders are different because they serve when other people don’t serve.
3. Wise leaders’ greatest talents are listening, loving, and praying.
