Healing – Even in the Shadows
Malachi 4:2 “But for you who revere my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in its wings.”
Are you waiting on healing? Are you battling a physical ailment or emotional wound that perhaps, has crippled your faith? Read the Scripture again…”for you who revere my name, … will rise with healing.” To revere means to have great respect, to show devotion or honor to someone or something. Have you been in the midst of your struggle so long that now you revere the pain? Allow me to redirect your focus today.
This passage gives the imagery of the Lord spreading out wings of healing that cover you. Not just the places in light but those in the shadows as well. Times of darkness can cause our faith to falter. We may think God has forgotten or abandoned us. And though we “feel” alone – His healing is spread out above and around you – overshadowing ALL the places in your life.
But there is a practical step we must take. We must choose to remove our pain, doubt, and frustration from the place of honor we’ve given it and put Jesus there. Believe it or not, Jesus wants to be at the center of your pain. When we revere God – there is nothing He withholds from His children, including healing.
