Acts 14:1-28
Paul and Barnabas are doing ministry together, and God is doing amazing things. People are giving their hearts to Jesus, getting healing, and the church is growing at a rapid rate. However, in verses 19-23 we see how to respond when we face hard times or persecution. The people of Lystra were mad at Paul for doing the work of God. As a result, Paul has been stoned nearly to death to the point he had to play dead so his attackers could stop. Verse 20 says that when his attackers left “he arose and went to another city to preach”.
Paul could have gone home feeling bad for himself or saying “this ministry stuff is to hard”. However, he got up and continued to do the work of God. There are times we run into obstacles when doing the work of God, Paul gives us a model whenever we face those obstacles that knocks us down, KEEP IT MOVING. Not only did he “keep it moving”, but he used his obstacle to encourage the believers in Lystra. Instead of staying on the ground hurt and beaten, get up and keeping it moving.
What obstacle in your life do you need to “Keep it Moving” through the power of the Holy Spirit?
