John 1:1 starts the passage by stating that in the beginning was the Word, Jesus, and the Word was God. This does not mean that God had a beginning, because as God He has no beginning; He always was. This quote rather refers to the beginning of creation. John 1:2 states, “He was with God in the beginning.” There are many critics that believe that the trinity doesn’t exist and that the Bible doesn’t refer to it. This passage of scripture is an example of God in three persons manifested (excluding the mention of the Holy Spirit, of course). Also, we find that Jesus reveals the character and nature of God, and we should understand that His role as Revealer began at creation. “Since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” (Romans 1:20). Creation reveals God!
In awe of all He has done, we should stand amazed at all His glory!
