God has used music to speak to me over the years. I especially like scripture that is put to song. Several years ago my husband wrote a song. Some of the words are taken from 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Hebrews 13:5. Here are some excerpts from that song.
Sometimes life gets us down.
Sometimes the path’s hard to see.
Circumstances, relationships,
Sometimes you may feel “Why me?”
But if you look to the Lord today,
Here’s what you’ll hear Him say,
My grace is sufficient for thee,
My grace is sufficient for thee,
My strength’s made perfect in weakness,
My grace is sufficient for thee.
And I will not leave you, I will not forsake you,
I’ll always be there for you.
I will not leave you, I will not forsake you,
I’ll be there to carry you through.
The words to this song have helped in several situations in our lives with family and friends. It’s amazing to think of how God’s grace is so perfect. We have to trust even when nothing makes sense or it seems like we are walking around blind. When we make Christ the center of our lives, the outcome will be beyond what we could ever have imagined. This is something I have to remind myself of every day. You see, the human part of me wants to keep taking it back when I know that God’s plan is the best plan. It will have the best outcome if I leave it in His care. He can do a much better job than I ever could. After all, He knows the final chapter.
Special thanks to Don Burket for letting me use his song
