Philippians 4 is one of my very favorite Bible chapters. Grab some coffee, get alone and just park here to absorb some incredible passages! Verse 9 caught my eye; “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.”
Paul was an influencer but he wanted his guidance to count by others walking out that influence in their everyday lives.
He spells out his criteria:
Whatever you learned from me.
Whatever you received from me.
Whatever you heard me say.
Whatever you saw me do.
Then go and do likewise!
Did you know that God has called YOU to be an influencer too? It’s true! And whether we realize it or not God has called us to be influencers too. Every day we shape and influence our world! How?
By what we teach others through example.
By what we give others in relationships.
By what they hear us say.
By what they see us do.
These all shape and influence those around us. We need to remember that we are always leading…the question is are we leading wisely?
I’ll leave you with the question Papa God whispered to me earlier today.
“Sandy, if others ‘go and do likewise’ from the fruit of your life, what will that look like and is there anything you need Me to help you do better with? My response? “Only everything Lord, only everything.”
Change us Jesus so we can influence others to be more like You!
