“Many of us have lost our way, spiritually, in the whiteout of the blizzard swirling around us. Blizzards begin when we say yes to too many things. Between demands from work and family, our lives fall somewhere between full and overflowing. We multitask, so much so that we are unaware we are doing three things at once. When we are lost in a storm, we need a rope to lead us home. That rope is the Daily Office and Sabbath.”
Life comes at us fast every day, and has a way of overwhelming us like a blizzard. However, when we have a goal of “beholding God’s presence” every moment of every day we have a way back “home” when we get lost in the blizzards of life. Having quiet time in the morning with God is good, but God desires a moment by moment pursuit of His presence.
Psalm 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
