“Christian spirituality, without an integration of emotional health, can be deadly to yourself, your relationship with God, and the people around you”
Today’s reading in EHS gives us great insight of what Christ truly wants for our lives. God wants us to thrive spiritually and emotionally. The author Peter Scazzero says that “Christian spirituality, without an integration of emotional health, can be deadly to yourself, your relationship with God, and the people around you” (Pg. 7). When we ignore our emotions “externally we appear kind, gracious, and patient, but inwardly we look nothing like that” (Pg.10). Many Christians ignore their emotions because “pretending is safer than honestly and vulnerability” (Pg.10). Jesus Christ died so that we would not have to pretend anymore, but be honest with where we are at emotionally. Have you ignored your emotional healthy in fear of being vulnerable.
