Today’s reading addresses our need to look out for one another. Each of us at one time or another have been in a situation where we were the one in need or, we’ve been the person that was able to be a blessing to someone else. Being a blessing does not always constitute monetary means. It could be simply helping someone move or praying for healing for someone who is sick. Whether you were on the receiving end or the giving end, a need was met. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
Heavenly Father, thank you for the best helper, the Holy Spirit that guides us through life. Also, thank you for our brothers and sisters in Christ that you’ve created to help us along the way. We are so thankful that you didn’t leave us here alone. You’ve given each of us a community of people who are there for us in our time of need. You don’t give to us for us to continually take or to keep for ourselves, but to be a blessing to others. Lord, help us to continue to be a blessing! Amen.
