The Holy Spirit calls Phillip to leave a great revival happening in Samaria to go down a desert road. Phillip obeyed w/o hesitation but surely questioned what God was telling him. The Holy Spirit had a divine appointment for Phillip with the Ethiopian eunuch. As a result, this important government official came to know Christ as Savior and was water baptized. Here, we see Phillip recognized the living and active voice (Hebrews 4:12) of the Holy Spirit. He saw that God longs equally for one lost soul to know salvation (Acts 8:26-40) as much as hundreds of people knowing salvation in Christ (Acts 8:2-25). Finally, Phillip trusted God’s perfect timing to lead each of his steps.
How well do you trust the Holy Spirit’s living and active voice? (Luke 11:28) Do you know you are no less qualified to lead others to Christ than Phillip? (2 Tim 3:16-17) Are you trusting God’s perfect timing for every struggle, circumstance, and relationship longings you wrestle with in everyday life? (Ps 27:14) Go to the Lord with one of the previous 3 questions and meditate on the corresponding scripture. Then, ask for the voice of the Holy Spirit to lead your steps today. There are many divine appointments that await you!
