“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

(John 13:34-35)

Never choose isolation! Although every leader and hero in the movies is a loner who doesn’t need anyone else, you need other people. In the Kingdom of God, there is no such thing as a leader who doesn’t know how to love other people well.

One of the best ways to lead someone else to Christ is to model good relationship. That goal will challenge your pride and busyness in a big way. After all, the greatest complaint of people who used to be Christians is that Christian family members or churches talk about love, but never actually lived it out with them when they needed it the most.

The church often misses the mark in this area. Most Christians don’t need an apologetics course, they need an apology course—a course that teaches them to apologize for the wrong they have done to people. Most Christians don’t need a soul-winning class; they need a “soul-to-soul” class—a class that teaches them to take the time to appreciate and love people instead of having shallow relationships. Those two classes would win more people to Christ than anything else!

The life God has designed for your blessing and victory includes deep and honest relationships. These relationships will be with your family, your church, and personal friendships. Although we all have different personalities, God made everyone to need relationships—no exceptions. If you want your life to lead others to Jesus, never choose isolation.
