Paying – the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again
“While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.”
Luke 24:4
Jesus doesn’t just call you to be forgiven…you are called to be re-born through Christ’s death and resurrection. Luke writes of two angels sent in dazzling apparel to confirm the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus’s death and resurrection is proof that He not only paid for the eternal consequences of your sin, but that he calls you to be re-born through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus died- Rom 6:23- The wages of sin is death. Jesus’s death secures payment for every sin you’ve committed, regardless of how big, shameful, or little the sin appears.
Jesus rose again- Jesus didn’t just pay the price of sin…his sovereign power overcomes the curse of death. His resurrection proves that you can be re-born just as Christ was reborn.
Maybe you’ve trusted in Jesus to forgive you of your sins, but have you been reborn? Mary and Martha were so full of pain that they had forgotten what Jesus had said would happen (Luke 24:7).
Read 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. Just as Mary and Martha saw the glory of two angels, you are called to see God’s glory in your own life. Are you daily choosing to be reborn in Christ to embrace the dazzle of the Holy Spirit transforming your life? New life begins when you seek Jesus daily and come to know Him. Embrace this truth today and share Him with those who have yet to be reborn in Christ.
