Now that the Israelites were ready to go into the Promise Land, Moses reminded them of their rebellion against God, the cycle they went through of rebellion, and the importance of their need to be obedient.
It was important that they be reminded because if they forgot, it would be easy for them to repeat the same pattern and fall into the same trap. Deuteronomy 4:9, “ Only be careful, and watch yourself closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Yes, we must remember, but the only way out of a sinful pattern and rebellion is through Jesus Christ. We must turn to Him, seek Him with all our hearts, and we’ll find Him.
