Ephesians 5:18 “…be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit, …”

It’s over! We’ve come to the end of this Advent season with the hustle and bustle of Christmas behind us. Now the journey begins…the FAITH journey.

It’s not a journey to be taken lightly. We will surely walk through some dark valleys as well as have glorious mountain top experiences. But do you know the most important thing needed for this journey? The scripture above should give you a hint. We need the Holy Spirit. The scripture is clear – we need to be CONSTANTLY FILLED. What exactly do you think that means?

God in His infinite wisdom provided someone to walk each step with us. Sure, we could navigate through life ourselves but I believe we would miss our divine purpose – the “calling” God has placed on each one of our lives. Operating in the Holy Spirit allows our hearts to be connected to the Father’s in a way like no other. But we cannot simply have “enough”. We must be filled – to the brim and overflowing so that we do not leave ourselves depleted and struggling for comfort when storms of life arrive.

To be CONSTANTLY FILLED we must delve into scripture daily, sit at Jesus’ feet and seek to understand God’s plan – not ours. I challenge you to expect “advent” everyday. Wait for the Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts, your attitude, and your words. As you continue on your FAITH journey, He will be faithful.
